This south facing family garden is unusually wide but had very little planting in the borders. The client wanted us to create a more interesting space for entertaining as well as to look out to. We created a large raised terrace so that you can walk straight out of the kitchen and enjoy entertaining in the eating area. We created larger beds all round and introduced a more architectural feel in the garden introducing low box hedges, a variety of herbaceous border plants including Acer japonica trees, and Hydrangea annabelle, Buxus balls and Anemone hybridas. We introduced a variety   of ferns and Anemones as well as the tall and elegant Verbena bonariensis for height and colour. For the spring, we planted a variety of white and dark burgundy tulips as well as “Purple sensation” Alliums.
